Laos Digital Immigration Form (LDIF)
Complete your Laos online arrival registration before you fly. We prepare the Lao Digital Immigration Form (LDIF), submit it and send the confirmation PDF by email.
Five minutes is all it takes
- Enter your details — A single guided form covers passport, trip and accommodation, and takes your passport photo page. Uploads are resized automatically so the MRZ stays readable.
- We review and submit — Our team checks every field against the Lao requirements, then submits to the official Department of Immigration system.
- Code and confirmation — You receive the immigration verification code and a confirmation PDF by email. Your reference number lets you check the status at any time.
Laos registration questions, answered
How do I fill out the Laos arrival card online?
The Laos arrival card (Laos Digital Immigration Form, LDIF) is completed online before you travel. Enter your passport details and trip info on our form in about five minutes; we check every field, submit it to the Lao government system for you, and email you the confirmation PDF. There is no app to install and nothing to fill in on arrival.
What is the step-by-step way to complete the Laos arrival card?
Three steps: 1) choose your arrival date, travel mode and entry point, 2) enter your passport details and upload your passport photo page, 3) add your accommodation and contact details, then submit. We review your entries and catch mistakes, so even first-timers can finish it online without rejections.
When exactly can I apply?
Within three days of arrival, counting the arrival day itself. Arriving on 10 March means you can submit from 8 March. Applying earlier than that is not accepted.
Which nationalities can you register?
The 15 nationalities that enter Laos visa-free. 30 days — South Korea, Japan, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Russia. 15 days — Luxembourg, Switzerland. 14 days — Myanmar. Other nationalities need a visa first, which we do not handle.
Why do you need a photo of my passport?
The Lao arrival register requires a passport image as a mandatory attachment — it is part of the official form, not something we add. Upload the photo page in colour with both MRZ lines visible.
Can I register for a land border crossing?
Yes. Alongside Wattay, Luang Prabang and Pakse airports we support Friendship Bridge 1 (Vientiane–Nong Khai), and you can declare car, bus, train or waterway as your mode of travel.
Are there passport validity rules?
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date. Our form flags it while you are applying if it is not.
Is this a visa?
No. It is the arrival registration that visa-free travellers complete before landing. It is not a visa and does not guarantee entry.
Can I do this myself instead?
Yes — registration is free on the official immigration.gov.la site. Laos Digital Immigration is a paid service that takes the form-filling, the passport image and the submission off your hands.
